Green office
In 2019, the Green Office program was launched across the entire Winner Group Ukraine. Prior to launching the program, each employee attended a 30-minute meeting, during which colleagues from the Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility Department told them about the “green office”, sustainable development, 5R concept, hazardous waste, and why we as a business should be responsible for the environment.
First three steps of the Green Office program are: waste sorting, disposable tableware reduction, and an education campaign about hazardous waste.
By the end of 2019, in cooperation with Obukhivmiskvtorresursy, we implemented a waste sorting system for six types of waste. Sorting containers were set at Winner Head Office in Kapitanivka village, at Winner Automotive dealerships on Pochayna, at Porsche Center Kyiv Airport, Jaguar Land Rover Kyiv Airport, and Bentley Kyiv at Boryspil Highway, as well as at Winner Construction office.
In particular, we have launched the sorting at PDI Department (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and in the service areas of the dealerships – the departments generating the most amount of waste – cardboard and plastic tape – that from now on will be recycled. We have established a sorting station in Kapitanivka at Winner territory to effectively manage waste.
The important stage in the effective sorting implementation was taking off individual employees' waste bins. The entire Winner team – and it consists of several hundred people – fully supported the step taken by all progressive companies implementing Green Office.
We appointed Green Office ambassadors in each department. These are volunteers encouraging and inspiring colleagues to drink coffee from their own reusable cups, to sort waste, to save resources, and to reduce environmental impact. Moreover, ambassadors generate new ideas to implement greener operational procedures and other eco initiatives.
The next stages planned for 2020 are “My cup, please” campaign, which objective is to remind colleagues once again about the dangers of disposable tableware, and to promote the issue of hazardous waste by informing colleagues of such waste, as well as regular campaigns “Give Lamp” aimed at collection of batteries, lamps, thermometers, medicines and other hazardous waste by employees in cooperation with Ecological Investments Company.
Winner employees do care about the environment!
