The Ukrainian national paratriathlon team received its first sponsorship

For the first time in the 124-year competition history, the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games 2020 were postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the period from August 24 to September 5, the Ukrainian paratriathlon team will go to Tokyo to compete for prizes and win medals for the country.

The Ukrainian paratriathlon team was sponsored for the first time — by Winner Group Ukraine. The partnership contract envisages financial support for 4 years, which, among other things, will help prepare for Paralympic Games, the main world sporting event. The national team also received from Winner a Ford Transit car equipped with everything necessary for comfortable movement and mobility of athletes.

And so that every Ukrainian could be proud of our country's achievements together with us."

The team consists of 7 Ukrainian athletes: 3 athletes with visual impairments, accompanied by guides, and 1 athlete with musculoskeletal disorders.

  • Vasyl Zakrevsky is a 5-time silver medalist of the world championships 2013-2017, European champion 2015, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine.
  • Anatoliy Varfolomeiev is a Master of Sports of International Class, winner of the World Cup 2018.
  • Vita Oleksiuk is a Master of Sports of International Class, winner of international cups.
  • Alisa Kolpakchi is a Master of Sports of International Class, winner and prize-winner of international cups.
  • Roman Korol is a guide, coach of the Ukrainian national paratriathlon team, Master of Sports of International Class in triathlon, founder and head of CapitalTRI sports club.
  • Kostiantyn Vechkanov is a guide, Master of Sports.
  • Tetiana Lishchynska is a guide, a Candidate Master of Sports in triathlon.

"Support we receive from companies allows athletes to train in the most favourable conditions and attend tournaments abroad. The competition is rising and the Ukrainian team needs to become stronger with each year compared to the previous one", said Roman Korol, head coach for the paralympic team.
