Plast brings up young people as conscious, responsible and valuable citizens on the local, national and world community levels and strive to educate the leaders of the society.
Plast was established in 1911, and already on April 12, 1912 Plast members took their first Plast oath in Lviv.
The name "Plast" is based on the equivalent of the English Scout, and comes from Ukrainian word “plastun” which was the name for Ukrainian Cossack scouts. Plast’s coat of arms is a three-leafed lily flower - a famous symbol of the scout movement - and a trident (“Tryzub”), which are inseparably interlaced into one harmonious integrity.
To reach its educational goals, Plast uses own unique educational method. Unlike most scouting organizations in the world, where membership is limited by the age 25, membership in Plast is lifelong.
In Ukraine, queues to join Plast keep growing, and so many young Ukrainians have to wait to become part of the Plast family. Therefore, the priority for the organization today is to attract and train educators who can work with children so that young Ukrainians can get a quality environment for development and acquire skills of teamwork, leadership, self-development, innovation, responsibility and more.
And this becomes possible by philanthropists who support Plast! Thanks to the cooperation with Winner, the organization had an opportunity to hold 8 training events, where 165 volunteers were trained, and so about 760 children were able to join Plast by the end of 2020.
In Plast, young people learn to be responsible, to take responsibility, to work in a team, to do socially useful projects.
We work together to change Ukraine and the world around us for the better.
