This year, Winner once again supported the Team Formula Student KPI, which is an extraordinary and enthusiastic project for students from various faculties and courses of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute aimed at a sports race car creation. All this started for good reason: in 2014, the youth decided to join the Formula Student project. Formula SAE was created in the USA in 1978. At first, the students simply “raced” using lawn mowers transformed into mini race cars. They were noticed by carmakers that offered to organize competitions – to design and to create racing cars. In 1998, Formula Student, the European version of the competition, was created. Students should present a technically ingenious car, a business plan, a team for the referees that include engineers and representatives of auto companies. The car passes a number of tests, where its power, creativity, safety are assessed. The requirements are extremely tough. Every year, the team should create a new race car – young people create a design, make mistakes, draw conclusions, learn from their own mistakes, and, thus, “develop”. The competition objective is to make a student an engineer already at the university.
Since 2014, when the project started at Kyiv Polytechnic University, the team has participated in international competitions in the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands.
