The new season of good deeds and volunteering is open! First of all Winner volunteers chose to visit the children rehabilitation center Dacha.
Dacha is a unique center where children from all over Ukraine who have cancer or have treatment at the Cancer Institute recover and live with their families for free. During its existence, over 1,000 children resided at Dacha.
6 families constantly live in the center. It is important to note that families have an opportunity to live altogether as a family: a mother, a father, a kid, and sometimes siblings. Each family has its own separate room, which for the period of treatment becomes a real, for all that temporary, home. Parents often say that at the hospital the child gets treatment, but at Dacha – simply lives, and even more – comes back to life. It is interesting that the name of the Center was given by the children themselves, although it was planned to be called Smile, but the name has never taken hold, as for families the Center is a place where they rest from the hospital walls, medical procedures, as in a country cottage (dacha).
