Winner Group Ukraine Provided Lviv Regional Hospital with Newborn Critical Care Transport

On March 30, the ceremonial handover of a neonatal reanimation vehicle from Winner Group Ukraine to the Lviv Regional Hospital took place. The Ford Transit intensive care ambulance is fitted with medical equipment necessary for the transportation of newborns with high perinatal risk. In this way, the company continues to keep up with its principles of social responsibility in Ukraine.

The new reanimation car for the smallest patients has the latest equipment, in particular:autonomous incubator for long-term transportation of newborns, pulse oximeter, electronic aspirator, patient monitor, syringe pump with the network connection option, artificial ventilation device for newborns, sanitary bag for first aid.

In 2016-2017, Winner Group Ukraine transferred to the Hospital three SI-610-1 incubators for newborn premature infants worth a total of
€ 52 000
. In June, the company plans to supply the second reanimation vehicle for newborns, and the second half of 2018 will see the start of a large-scale reconstruction of the neonatal center and equipping it with the latest medical devices and units.

Each year the Hospital’s neonatal intensive care department provides treatment for more than 700 babies who were born with body weight as low as 500g and up. Patients are transferred to this department from various obstetric hospitals located in Lviv and Lviv Region. Such transportation requires safety and professionally equipped reanimation ambulance car. Last time such vehicle was purchased back in 2009 and currently its mileage is approximately 700,000km.

The project of Lviv Hospital’s renovation has a special historical significance for Winner Group Ukraine. The parents of Ivan Hynansky, the company’s founder and CEO, were born in Western Ukraine but forced to leave their homeland in the 1930s.

In 2016-2017, Winner Group Ukraine transferred to the Hospital three SI-610-1 incubators for newborn premature infants worth a total of EUR 52,000. In June, the company plans to supply the second reanimation vehicle for newborns, and the second half of 2018 will see the start of a large-scale reconstruction of the neonatal center and equipping it with the latest medical devices and units. From 1992 until 2002 Lviv Regional Hospital cooperated with Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, the U.S. Lviv’s Hospital housed the first in Ukraine education and training center for newborn reanimation and an intensive care unit at the department of premature newborn babies as well as introduced modern standards for the provision of assistance to patients. In particular, since 1996, the system of transportation of critically ill newborns within the first hours of their lives using lung artificial ventilation unit installed in reanimation vehicle Ford Econoline has been launched. This vehicle was received from the Henry Ford Hospital thanks to the Winner Group Ukraine. The second reanimation car, Ford Transit, was transferred to the hospital by Winner Group Ukraine in 1997.
